Quality has a name
From “snall” revisions and deadline work to revision G4.0 can
be carried out in the bogie area.
Lifting jacks are used to raise the “wagon body”, depending on the type of freight or tank wagon.
The bogies, such as the various Y25 or H-frame bogies, are removed and disassembled into their subassemblies depending on the revision level. The brakes and their “small parts” and “exchange parts” are partially removed, checked and reconditioned.
The brake revisions such as Br2 or Br3 are carried out. A brake inspection with subsequent brake test is carried out exclusively by trained and certified workers.
We carry out
- underframe revisions G4.0, G4.2 and G4.8, as well as deadline work on
freight wagons - Reconditioning of bogies: ISD 1, ISD 2 and ISD 3
- Brake inspections: Br 0, BR 2 and Br 3 by qualified personnel
- Pressure and leak tests on dangerous goods tank wagons according to RID and
Pressure Vessel Directive
In the process, experts who are constantly present enable fast and delay-free
processing.

System provider ECM
The “Entity in Charge of Maintenance” (abbreviated as: ECM) refers to a control body that is responsible for the maintenance of freight wagons.
This instance found its origin in the directive for “Railway Safety in Europe”, which came into force in 2008
and serves to harmonise safety standards within the European Union. For the ECM, it is absolutely necessary to introduce a functioning maintenance management system based on EU Regulation 445/2011. Based on this directive, we, the Franz Kaminski Group, offer a service package specially adapted to the ECM.
The Franz Kaminski Group offers the customer the following service:
- Continuous monitoring of maintenance with the aid of our production data acquisition and document management system.
- A coordinated spare parts management with administration of external
storage locations. - The provision of maintenance and wheelset data available at
any time. - Web services for the management of wagon-specific spare parts lists

Spare parts management
…but also to constantly improve it since its introduction in order to offer our customers the highest level of transparency and quality.
The Franz Kaminski Group provides the customer with a closed hall storage area with high racks so that the customer’s rail vehicle spare parts can be stored safely, damage-free and in accordance with the applicable regulations. The customer receives an overview of the spare parts they have stored for freight wagons or tank wagons via the Kaminski web shop at any time and can use this platform to make requests for spare parts management.
When the goods arrive, an incoming inspection is carried out by appropriate specialist staff before they are stored. Among other things, it is checked whether the required documents such as certificates or test certificates are available. These documents can then be made available to the customer in digital form at any time. The customer has the option of a monthly evaluation of all warehouse movements for the managed freight wagon spare parts. On request, it is also possible to create an evaluation of the turnover rate and the stock range.

Cleaning
In order to do justice to environmental protection and cleaning quality, processes are required that help to comply with waste water limit values and exhaust air reductions and at the same time guarantee a continuous high level of quality.
At Franz Kaminski Waggonbau GmbH, we have optimised the technology and processes to do just that.
In addition to the usual substances such as
- acids and alkalis
- diesel, petrol and paraffin
- sulphur, solid
- fuel oil, crude petroleum and partly their derivatives
- alcohols and some ketones
we are also able to remove a wide range of substances from the chemical industry
from wagons and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner.
The Kaminski Group can clean a wide range of wagons. In addition to chemical and mineral oil wagons, we are also able to clean pressurised gas wagons using various decompression methods. The depressurisation of a pressurised gas tank car (depressurisation) can also be carried out with hydrocarbons such as butadiene using special methods. The degassing of the pressurised gas tank car can be carried out using various methods.
It is possible to clean the following products:
- Hydrocarbons: Propane, butane and their mixtures
- as well as butadiene and technical gases in general.
With our new dust cleaning system, we also offer the possibility of cleaning loads such as brown coal dust, lime or cement from dust wagons.
As a further service, we offer exterior and underframe cleaning, interior inspections according to UIP and surface treatment.

Dust cleaning
With this newly constructed plant, we, the Franz Kaminski Group, are now in a position to clean dust wagons from loads such as brown coal dust, lime or cement.
The plant is equipped with a large suction system with explosion protection and guarantees the highest level of environmental protection:
- a maximum of environmental protection,
- optimum quality and safety during cleaning, and
- maximum occupational safety for the employees
The lignite dust can be collected according to the source of the cleaned dust and then disposed of or, after the tank has been inspected, filled back into the associated wagon.
The exhaust air is filtered so that the dust emissions according to TA-Luft 2002 can be complied with and thus contributes to environmental protection. The entire plant itself has been approved by the Trade Supervisory Authority (GAA) and is designed in accordance with the new ATEX directive.
